What's New?

It is a new week for Material Girl on E-bay and I am just getting started listing new items. I am a tad behind because of the Monday holiday and a soccer tournament this weekend, so check back to my e-bay store often this week for new listings. I have already listed a couple more of the 1970's fashion patterns, one Butterick and one Simplicity. This group of patterns that I found are so retro and right in style with what you find in the stores today. I have to say that I when I learned to sew, it was mostly garment sewing. I could swear that I had these patterns to make in high school. I think my mom may have made the mini dress/hot pants for me one Christmas. It was a red and green mini plaid, and if I remember correctly the fabric was a heavy double knit. Sounds ghastly now, but I think I loved it! I think both of these patterns could be very cute today with the right fabric!

I have pulled several needlepoint kits to list and they will probably start appearing tonight. I have a jungle cat theme this week. I have two kits with a Leopard, and two with a Jaguar. One of the kits is a Monarch Horizons that incorporates long stitch. The other three are Sunset, Dimensions, and Candamar Designs. I haven't taken the pictures of these yet.

In honor of back to school, I have a cute kit from Bucilla that is called "Happiness is Homemade." It looks like a child's drawing.

I will be listing two quilt kits that I never got into the store last week. One is Shangri-la from 3 Sisters by Moda and the other is Sanctuary, also by 3 Sisters. Both kits come with the fabric, pattern and a tote. They would make great gifts for a quilting friend, or for you.

I have decided to offer free shipping on one or two items each week. Look for the free shipping symbol on the auction to find out which listing(s) I have chosen.

Please feel free to e-mail me if you are looking for anything special. I am always happy to help! Thanks for visiting my blog. Let me know that you were here! Debbie

Ebay for August 25, 2008

This week on ebay I have started listing vintage clothing patterns from Butterick and Simplicity, as well as needlepoint kits, a vintage napkin lot, and new quilt kits from Moda. The clothing patterns are great retro dresses from the 70's that are right in style with today's fashions. Cute mini and maxi dresses! The napkin lot is a nice mix of cocktail and dinner size napkins, all cotton or linen and all in like new condition. I've got a mix of needlepoint kits to list this week. Sometimes I stick with a theme, but this week I just opened the tub of kits and pulled out what I found. I have Needle Treasures, Elsa Williams, Dimensions, and Bucilla as well as a very retro Mazeltov's Miniature of a bird in a floral setting.

I have also listed two patterns books: A Vintage Bouquet from Indygo Junction and Frills. A Vintage Bouquet is an embroidery pattern book with a very vintage flair. There are lots of patterns to embellish every kind of article from towels to clothing. I love this book and have kept one for myself. The starting prince is only $9.95 and shipping is FREE! Frills is a unique quilt pattern book that has frills or ruffles in all of its designs. This one is very cute and great for the shabby chic or girly quilter. It also has FREE shipping.

If you love to knit, check out my retro vintage afghan patterns from Spinnerin. If you collect ephemera, then you will want to see my Housewife Magazine from July 1912.

I have lots of great items listed this week, so please check me out soon! New listings will be posted daily! http://stores.ebay.com/Material-Girl-Vintage-Textiles.
